I hope you enjoy the recipe and I'm waiting for comments.
level of difficulty: quite challenging
Approx. 80 rolls
Time of preparation: 2 hours on the whole if you're slow like me.
Ingredients
5 eggs
3 1/2 cups of self-rising flour
zest of 1 orange
1 shot of brandy
1 tablespoon of sugar
Lots of frying oil
1 kg of honey
1 1/2 cups of water
200 grams of crushed walnuts
Cinnamon
50 grams of roasted sesame
How to do it
First whisk the eggs with the sugar until they get creamy. Add the zest and slowly mix the flour and brandy till you have a dough which doesn't stickon your hands. Don't put all of the flour at once. Wait and see how much it needs to get a firm dough. When it's done, leave it to rest for at least half an hour. Start spreading the dough into thin sheets. The thinner, the better! If you have a machine for lasagne, it's easier and faster. Cut the sheets in strips and roll them in your fingers or with a spoon directly into the pan which should be hot when you throw them in.Fry all of them first and then prepare the syrup. Let the honey and water boil together for a couple of minutes as you take off the foam it makes.Put the rolls twoby two and let them in the syrup for 2-3 minutes. Keep it hot while you put the rolls in it. When you've finished, sprinkle crushed walnuts, cinnamon and the best of all roasted sesame! Enjoy!
Yummy, yummy honey rolls! Would never dare to attempt making them though, I'm kind of an "easy level difficulty" cook! :-)
